IPL Photorejuvenation
IPL emits intense pulses of broad spectrum light over a range of wavelengths from 400nm to 1200nm. As the light penetrates through the skin, various chromophores (eg. melanin chromophores in pigmented lesions and blood chromophores in vascular lesions) will be targeted by specific wavelengths of light. These chromophores absorb the light and are subsequently damaged. The body will then clear the lesion debris, giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.
The number of treatments required vary from individual to individual and the skin condition that is being treated. Multiple treatments are typically required. Treatments last about 15 to 20 minutes and can be performed every 4 to 6 weeks.
