Botox
Botox® Cosmetic, from Allergan Inc., is one of the most popular non-surgical procedures performed for the temporary correction of certain facial wrinkles. It is injected with a series of superficial injections to the muscle and is extremely safe at the low doses used for cosmetic purposes. We also offer Dysport® (Galderma), Jeuveau® (Evolus), Daxxify® (Revance Aesthetics), Letybo® (Hugel), and Xeomin® (Merz Aesthetics)—similar FDA-approved neurotoxins that work in slightly different ways but all deliver beautiful, natural-looking results when administered by an experienced, licensed medical provider. Neurotoxins work by reducing the muscle activity that causes lines and wrinkles to form over time. The result is a smoother appearance with natural movement and the ability to show expression. These treatments are excellent for dynamic wrinkles—those caused by repetitive muscle movement—such as frown lines (“11’s”), forehead lines, crow’s feet, lip lines, marionette lines, chin dimpling, and necklace lines along the neck. How long do treatments take? Depending on the areas being treated, Botox treatments usually take 15 to 30 minutes. There may be slight redness, swelling, or discomfort at the injection site, but these are temporary. The cost of Botox is variable depending on each patient’s needs. How long do results last? You may see results from your Botox treatments in a day or two, but the full effect might take up to two weeks, which is why we like to see you again in 2 weeks to be sure you are happy with the results. Wrinkle reduction lasts up to four months. It is recommended you get maintenance injections every 3-4 months to prevent the wrinkles from returning. Maintenance injections will lead to further softening of stubborn wrinkles over time.
Dermal Filler
As we age, our skin and facial features change. These changes are partly due to the loss of facial fat and bone structure, leading to wrinkles, folds, and volume loss. Over time, you may notice nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, jowls, flattened cheeks, thinning lips, under-eye hollows, or hollow temples. Dermal fillers are one of the best non-surgical ways to restore youthful volume or add subtle enhancement where you want it most. Made primarily of hyaluronic acid (HA)—a substance your body naturally produces—fillers provide volume, lift, and structure while keeping results natural. Results typically last 9–24 months, depending on the filler used, the treatment area, and your individual metabolism. Laser Skin Resurfacing
We offer multiple laser skin resurfacing treatments, including CO2, LaseMD Ultra, & Erbium Laser Resurfacing. These lasers are all resufacing lasers, which is just like it sounds. Fraxel is a common brand name resurfacing laser. ERBIUM: Erbium is a powerful laser that does an amazing job of resurfacing the skin. It can be done on the face, neck, hands, chest, legs. The depth of an erbium laser treatment can be varied so that it can be a mild treatment with no downtime (using our fractionated erbium handpiece), or more aggressive fully ablative erbium with about 5-7 days of downtime and more substantial results. Everglow Medical Aesthetics recommends this for surface wrinkles, fine lines, sundamage and crepey skin. It is especially good for lip lines and the eye area. It is great for getting rid of serious or resistant hyperpigmentation or sun damage quickly. You will see amazing results in just one treatment but may need another for full correction. Erbium Lasers cause minor injury to the skin - resurfacing, or ablating the top layer. Since it is your own body doing the healing work, results may last up to 5 years. We love using our erbium laser in combination treatment with our Pixel-8 Radio Frequency microneedling ("Total Skin Rejuvenation") because it targets both deep wrinkles and tightening and addresses the surface texture and tone. That means it uses gentle columns of heat to stimulate collagen growth without wounding the skin. This innovative device is quickly becoming popular with patients who want visible results minus the recovery time. It can be used to treat any area of the body with sun damage, acne and acne scarring, and fine lines. The most common area to be treated is the face, followed by the neck, chest, arms, shoulders and hands. LaseMD Ultra stimulates natural collagen production by delivering just the right amount of energy and heat to the skin’s proper depths without injuring its surface. The LaseMD Ultra is a thulium 1927 nm wavelength laser. This is a great wavelength for treating pigmentation because it’s highly absorbed by the water in the skin. The number of treatments needed will depend on the depth and intensity of your treatment regimen. Lighter treatments may require 4-6 treatments to see optimal results. Deeper treatments may produce full results in a single session. Most patients see significant improvement in the quality of their skin after three treatment sessions spaced at one-month intervals. LaseMD Ultra Results: Results will appear soon after your first treatment and continue to improve for up to 6 months as collagen levels increase. In most cases, results are long-lasting. This can be done as part of your facial treatment or on its own. What is CO2 Resurfacing? A CO2 Fractional resurfacing laser is a carbon dioxide laser that precisely removes deep outer layers of damaged skin and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. The CO2 treats fine to moderately deep wrinkles, photodamage, scarring, skin tone, texture, crepiness, and laxity. A fractionated CO2 treatment helps regenerate new collagen and consequently more youthful, healthier-looking skin while allowing for shorter healing times and safer treatments than traditional methods. This is an ablative treatment and downtime should be expected. What are some benefits of Fractionated CO2? • Minimizes sun damage, acne scars, and fine lines • Improves skin texture and evens skin tone • Stimulates collagen for firmer, more youthful skin • May help treat skin lesions • Better long-term results • Creates a firmer and more youthful skin appearance • Minimal downtime for significant results How does it work? Carbon dioxide laser beams penetrate the top skin layers through micro channels reaching into the dermis. It creates tiny microscopic areas of thermal damage that stimulate new collagen production and replaces damaged skin surfaces with new epidermal cells. How does CO2 differ from other laser treatments? The major difference between IPL treatments and Fractionated CO2 Laser Resurfacing is ablation. Fractional CO2 laser is a deep, ablative treatment for more intense cellular turnover. CO2 laser resurfacing is the original and the most in-depth cosmetic laser treatment on the market – “The Gold Standard” of lasers. It is an ablative procedure, meaning that the laser energy destroys the outer layer of damaged cells to encourage new collagen production and prompt the body to create fresh, new skin. Recovery can take one to several weeks, but the results can be dramatic. Other lasers may be lighter or non-ablative and do not yield as significant results. What can I expect? Carbon dioxide laser resurfacing is usually performed in the office, using topical anesthesia in combination with ProNox laughing gas, if needed. Wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and forehead may be treated individually, or a full-face laser resurfacing may be performed. Following the laser resurfacing procedure, the skin is cleansed and an occlusive ointment is recommended. The stronger the settings, the longer the recovery time. We can do a light resurfacing with no downtime or go big! Once the areas have healed, you can wear oil-free makeup to camouflage the pink-to-red color that is generally seen after laser resurfacing. You should avoid sun exposure for four weeks before laser treatment and liberally apply sunscreens pre- and post-procedure. How does it feel? Patients and doctors commonly compare the sensation felt during most laser treatments to a rubber band snapping against the skin. However, what laser resurfacing feels like depends on the depth and area of treatment and an individual’s tolerance for pain. Deeper CO2 laser treatments may require topical or local anesthetic injections, or intravenous sedation to keep a patient comfortable. We do not typically go that deep here. Some non-ablative laser treatments (Where the laser passes through the skin without removing layers) cause little-to-no pain and require only a topical numbing cream to offset discomfort. These are nice alternatives but typically cannot provide as impactful results and many more sessions are required. When will I see the results? How long do they last? Initial results will be apparent within weeks of treatment. Full results, however, can be seen 3-6 months after the initial treatment, once the skin has completely healed. Improvements from a CO2 laser procedure may be seen for many years after treatment. How many treatments will I need? Typically, 1 session may be sufficient depending on your individualized desired results. Many patients also benefit from subsequent treatments at lower settings called “micro laser peels”. How to care for your skin after CO2? Daily sunscreen application is necessary after healing to protect the newly laser-resurfaced skin. A broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended, which screens both ultraviolet B and ultraviolet A rays. Use sunscreen specifically formulated for use on the face with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30. Liberal moisturizer application is also recommended after healing. You can resume application of Retin-A and/or glycolic acid products approximately six weeks after the procedure, or as directed by your healthcare provider. How long does a treatment take? Sessions generally take approximately 30 minutes, based on the area being treated. For patients requiring more intensive sessions, the duration of a session may run 30 minutes to up to an hour long. Will I need to take time off? Yes, there may be 3-7 days of downtime depending on the intensity of treatment.
Platelet Rich Fibrin - "PRF"
This all natural rejuvenating treatment evolved from Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections used in Orthopedics and Dental procedures. Techonolgy has evolved and given us an even better option in Platlet Rich Fibrin (PRF). PRF can produce a higher cumulative release of growth factors than PRP. Also, this release is slow and prolonged, making it ideal for tissue regeneration and growth stimulation. Platelet-rich fibrin helps stimulate healing, as fibrin is known to stimulate stem cells which improve collagen and elastin in the skin. PRF can help make the skin heal at the cellular level. PRF can be used alone or in combination with other cosmetic treatments, like microneedling. PRF is obtained from a simple blood draw. We use your own blood sample and spin it down to be able to extract the "liquid gold" PRF. PRF is rich in growth factors and will trigger cell proliferation, speed up healing, and stimulate tissue regeneration in the treated area. How is PRF used? We can either microneedling PRF liquid into your skin or inject it into problem areas. It is used especially in the undereye area to create collagen. We can also heat PRF to create an all natural "gel" that is used as a filler and a collagen stimulator. It is sometimes called "Bio-Filler" or EZ-Gel. This filler can be used almost anywhere. How long do treatments take and how long do results last? Results from liquid PRF treatments usually take a few weeks to appear and a few months to see maximum improvement. Most patients need three treatments monthly, then a maintenance treatment every 12-18 months. The Bio-Filler gel results are seen immediately and usually only one or two treatments are needed. Your results should last about a year. This is our favorite treatment for the under eye area! Is it safe and effective? Several studies have concluded that PRF is effective in reducing skin wrinkles with minimal side effects.
IPL Photofacial
Photorejuvenation refers to the use of Intense Pulsed Light (often abbreviated IPL) to treat a wide range of skin conditions. It is especially effective in reducing the appearance of brown spots, rosacea and skin redness, acne and even skin rejuvenation. At our practice, we offer IPL technology with both our Rohrer Specturm IPL, that has red, green and blue light filters for different conditions, or our Candela Elos Plus IPL. Both machines are know for their overall safety and efficacy. How does IPL work? IPL uses light energy to target damaged skin cells. The wavelengths heat the cells in the skin and break them down, so the body will naturally remove the damaged tissue. How many IPL treatments will be required? For best results, it is recommended that patients receive 3 treatments scheduled four weeks apart.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a powerful yet customizable way to refresh your complexion and improve skin tone, texture, and radiance. Peels come in varying depths—mild, moderate, and deep—depending on your goals and downtime tolerance. Vessel Reduction
We use Spectrum Long Pulse Yag laser technology for blood vessel reduction that heats and damages blood vessels, causing them to collapse, thus reducing visibility and size. This can be used on the face for broken blood vessels and rosacea or the legs for spider veins. When can I expect to see the results? Results vary. It is typical to see some fading after the first session, but it may take multiple treatments for maximum results.
Skin Classic
What is Skin Classic? Getting rid of unsightly skin growths has never been easier! Skin Classic is a revolutionary, safe, and non-invasive treatment that quickly removes skin growths and treats conditions such as: Rosacea Sun/Brown Spots Broken facial capillaries/blood vessels Cherry Hemangiomas Milia Acne Skin Tags Sebaceous Hyperplasia Cholesterol Deposits Seringomas Using high frequency technology, the Skin Classic treatment works on the epidermis. Its electrical current dehydrates the top layer of the particular skin condition, allowing new, healthy skin to grow in its place. Skin Classic is a non-laser treatment, which means its electrical energy can be very precisely applied to a specific area, removing lesions that may otherwise be too light or too thick for a laser-based treatment to successfully remove. Some conditions disappear immediately and others are gone within a few minutes. There is minimal downtime and discomfort and results are permanent, although new growths can still appear. Skin Classic is fast and affordable. Some patients may have some social downtime, depending on what we're doing as this can leave a tiny scab.
Tattoo Removal
Our Spectrum Q-Switch laser comfortably and effectively removes tattoos. The older the tattoo, the easier/faster it is to remove. Same is true for black or traditional tattoo ink. Certain colors tend to be harder to remove. How does the tattoo removal procedure work? The laser light breaks apart ink pigments in the skin which are absorbed into the body and removed by the bloodstream. Each treatment will further fade the tattoo. What is the tattoo removal procedure like and what should I expect? It may take several sessions. These sessions are quick, and most people describe the procedure as being less painful than getting the tattoo in the first place. We do offer prescription numbing cream if needed. In terms of pricing, we offer a small, medium and large pricing structure. Treatments are usually done about 8-12 weeks apart, and the amount of treatment sessions necessary will vary depending on color, size and age of tattoo.
Kybella
Kybella® permanently destroys fat cells under the chin to improve your profile. Kybella® is the only FDA approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile. It can be used in other body areas, including jowls, back, chest, and legs. We tend to stick to using it in just the chin area. How does Kybella work? Kybella® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid naturally occurs in the gallbladder and assists in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Once injected into the fat, Kybella® destroys fat cells and results in a noticeable reduction in the fullness under your chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. Patients usually need 1-3 treatments, spaced about eight weeks apart. If you are thinking of having Kybella, first book a consultation. Robyn will examine the area to assess if Kybella® is right for you and tailor your treatment to your needs and aesthetic goals. How long does treatment and recovery take?
